A cannabis farm found inside a Coventry warehouse was the biggest discovered by police in the whole of the West Midlands in 2020.

A phone call from power suppliers led to officers smashing their way in to a premises in Foleshill in July.

Inside they discovered a sophisticated set-up including a living quarters, full hydroponic equipment and over 3,600 plants with a street value of £3,618,000.

Officers shot a video from inside the huge cannabis farm which you can see above.

The raid took place on July 20 after Western Power Distribution had contacted West Midlands Police reporting illegal electricity extraction at the warehouse premises in Foleshill Road.

Once officers had forced their way in and made the discovery, forensic teams were called in a bid to try and find out who was responsible for the hidden drugs den.

It turned out that CCTV at the site wasn’t working, meaning police had to turn to other potential sources to identify any suspect.

This led to items, including toothbrushes, drink cans and utensils, being seized and forensically tested. However, the forensic team’s efforts proved unfruitful and no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information on the cannabis farm can call West Midland Police on 101 or use its Live Chat, quoting log number 2714 of July 20, 2020.
