Watertown candidates have opposing views on marijuanaPosted by On

WATERTOWN, S.D. (KWAT) – The two candidates running for a State Senate seat in Watertown have sharp differences when it comes to marijuana.

South Dakotans will decide this November whether to legalize medical marijuana, and marijuana for recreational use.

Adam Jewell, who’s running against incumbent Senator Lee Schoenbeck, believes marijuana should be made legal.

Schoenbeck is on the other side of this issue. He believes legalizing marijuana will make the meth problem in South Dakota worse—not better.

Jewell is running as a Libertarian Party candidate.

Schoenbeck has a legislative career that spans service in both the House and Senate, and dates back to the mid 1990’s.
