It’s the last day for Kentucky lawmakers to pass bills this year, and hope remains alive for medical marijuana.A hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday on Senate Bill 47.Medical marijuana made its greatest strides this year, passing the Senate for the first time ever, 26-11 (Watch that story in the player above).It has a good chance to pass within the House, where it historically has.While the bill would make medical marijuana legal, the qualifying conditions required are not expansive, and it’ll be strictly regulated. Any of the qualifying conditions would have to be diagnosed by a doctor for the patient to receive a certification to possess. If it passes, it won’t be available until 2025.
