Witness to shooting says it started over marijuana, lighterPosted by On

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Several witnesses took the stand Wednesday in the case of a man accused of killing two people and leaving two others hurt in a shooting at a northeast Memphis apartment complex on Jan. 28.

Dartagnan Lee is accused of the shooting. One witness claimed that it all started over marijuana and a lighter.

The two surviving victims stood before Judge Christian Johnson stating there was no conflict before the shooting.

Lee’s girlfriend Asia Conway — who is also the niece of one of the survivors — told officers the same thing.

But now in the courtroom, she had a different story.

“We were sitting down on a bench and then at some point they all walked up and started standing over him,” she said. “They ashed their blunts on him.”

Conway claims they were picking on Lee because he didn’t want to share his marijuana, or his lighter.

She says everyone had a gun but according to the affidavit, only one was found on the scene.

This evidence now goes to a grand jury who will decide what charges to indict Lee on.
