An Alexander High School student has been arrested for smoking marijuana on campus, according to the United ISD Police Department.
Javier Hugo Valdez, 18, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
On Jan. 26, Valdez was taken to the assistant principal’s office regarding several students smoking in the band hall, authorities said. Valdez matched the description in the surveillance cameras. A search of Valdez’s backpack yielded a vape pen, states an arrest affidavit.
“After further investigation, it was determined it was a heating herb vape pen containing a usable amount of marijuana,” states the affidavit.
Webb County Jail records show that Valdez is out on bond.
