Alleged marijuana thief caught by Blenheim homeownersPosted by On

A man allegedly stole seven marijuana plants from the backyards of two homes in the Towanda Boulevard area in Blenheim on Tuesday morning.

He reportedly fled with the plants but was detained by homeowners until Chatham-Kent police arrived.

Police recovered all of the plants.

A 45-year-old Chatham man was charged with two counts of theft with a value less than $5,000 and being in possession of property obtained by a crime with a value less than $5,000. He was released with an Oct. 26 court date.

 

Tools stolen

Power tools worth approximately $20,000 were stolen from a utility trailer at a construction site on Tecumseh Line in Tilbury late Monday night or early Tuesday morning.

About $500 in damage was done to the trailer.
