1300 BLOCK EAST EIGHTH STREET: A 37-year-old man was arrested by officers Monday afternoon after officers helped Probation and Parole employees with a home search where meth, marijuana and a handgun were found. Police Deputy Chief Brent Wasson said about 2 milliliters of liquid meth, 5.5 grams of marijuana, a marijuana cigarette, THC wax and an edible were found in the home. A 9 mm handgun and ammunition also were found. The man was arrested for possession of meth and marijuana and probation violation. Wasson said the investigation into the possession of the gun continues.
HIGHWAY 50 AND HIDDEN VALLEY ROAD: Deputies arrested a 39-year-old man for drug possession after stopping him for speeding 58 mph in a 55 mph zone Monday morning. Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds said that when deputies stopped the 2013 gray Volkswagen Jetta with Massachusetts plates, the driver’s hands were shaking and they could smell marijuana. The man said he had marijuana in the car and deputies found six dispensary containers with more than 7 grams worth of marijuana, a marijuana grinder and pipe and more than 4 ounces of cannabis gummies. The man was arrested for possession of marijuana and THC edibles.
