A 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of drug offences after police arrived at Merseyside school.

Police arrived at Sacred Heart Catholic College in Crosby yesterday morning (Wednesday) when they arrested a boy, aged 14.

Police said the boy was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

A quantity of edible cannabis sweets, also known as cannabis cakes, were recovered, police said.

The ECHO has seen a video clip which appears to show police escorting a pupil from the school yesterday morning.

The boy is seen walking toward a police van surrounded by officers.

A parent at the school who asked not be named said: “The police arrived at around 9am and the boy was pulled out of class by a senior member of the teaching staff. He was then seen being escorted from the school by police. Everyone is talking about it and there is a lot of concern.”

A police spokesman said: “We can confirm a 14-year-old boy was arrested at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Crosby yesterday, Wednesday 19th January, on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

“A quantity of edible cannabis sweets was also recovered. The boy was later released under investigation pending further enquiries.”

The ECHO approached the school for comment.
