Speeding drug dealer Ryan Robson was caught after crashing his car on his way to sell cannabis.
When the 27-year-old collided with the corner of a Fiat garage, police attended the scene and saw he had a big bag of cannabis in the car.
Further checks revealed other drugs paraphernalia, a debtors list, Snapchat adverts about selling drugs and Facebook messages indicating he was dealing.
Robson, who said he had only recently started selling cannabis in a bid to make quick cash after losing his job, pleaded guilty to possessing a class B drug with intent to supply and was given a suspended prison sentence.
Newcastle Crown Court heard it was on January 31 this year that police were called to the collision.
Rachel Glover, prosecuting, said: “They conducted a search of the defendant’s vehicle and found a bag of cannabis in the front foot well, along with a bag containing drugs paraphernalia – two grinders and numerous containers.
