A cannabis farm believed to be worth nearly a quarter of a million pounds has been seized.

Cleveland Police officers recovered the grow, with 268 plants, at a property on Cleveland Street, Redcar.

The force carried out the drugs raid on Friday and seized the cannabis plants.

Officers executed the warrant after receiving intelligence from the local community.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “Around £240,000 worth of cannabis was seized from a property on Cleveland Street in Redcar today, Friday 22 nd January.

“Officers from the Redcar Neighbourhood Team executed the drugs warrant and 268 cannabis plants were seized in total.

“The warrant was conducted after receiving intelligence from the local community.
