Drug squad cops recovered £14,000 of cannabis, cocaine and heroin during a weekend raid in Johnstone.

Police launched the operation on Saturday afternoon and attended at the property in Beith Road in the town.

Officers from the force’s Alcohol and Violence Reduction Unit carried out the search just after 5pm and uncovered large quantities of white and brown powder and herbal substances, believed to be the Class-A and Class-B drugs.

The drugs recovered from the premises are understood to have a street value of £14,000.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Officers in possession of search warrants issued under the Misuse of Drugs Act attended at an address in Beith Road, Johnstone, around 5pm on Saturday.

“Following searches of the property, officers involved with the Violence Reduction Unit recovered a large quantity of what is believed to be herbal cannabis, cocaine and heroin.

“The estimated street value is around £14,000.

“A 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with drug supply offences.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”

He added: “We will continue to target the individuals and networks responsible for supplying harmful substances across Renfrewshire.
