SHELDON—A 34-year-old Des Moines man was arrested about 1:40 a.m. Monday, April 22, in Sheldon on charges of first-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The arrest of Eduardo Amador Olvera stemmed from him being observed by a 2003 GMC Yukon near the north end of the parking lot for Super 8 Motel in Sheldon, according to the Sheldon Police Department.
An officer approached Amador Olvera and could detect the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Amador Olvera handed the officer a THC vaping pen from his pocket and a grinder rolling papers and a container of marijuana shake were found in the vehicle, according to the incident report.
