A huge crop of cannabis plants was seized when police carried out a drugs raid after a tip-off.

Officers discovered the illicit haul of drugs after information was passed on by the public.

Cops raided the address, on an undisclosed road in Erdington, where they found a ‘large amount’ of mature plants tightly packed into a room, along with hydroponic equipment.

A ‘passionate gardener’ found inside the property was arrested.

A picture later shared by the force showed the large-scale drugs factory operating within the address.

Officers have since urged anyone to get in touch if they suspect a drugs factory may be operating in their area.

Birmingham East police tweeted: “Team 3 conducted a warrant in Erdington yesterday and found a large cannabis factory.

“The passionate gardener found inside the property was arrested.

“Please continue reporting your intelligence to us. We couldn’t have done this without the help of the public.”
