A man is fighting for life in hospital after being attacked by six strangers in Sydney’s CBD.

The attack occurred in the early hours of May 23 on the corner of George and Liverpool streets.

Police were told a 25-year-old man became involved in a physical altercation with six men he didn’t know.

He suffered a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

The six men fled the scene in a blue Holden Commodore, driving north along Kent Street.

Detectives have since established Strike Force Stockdale to investigate the assault.

As part of their inquiries, investigators have released images of six men they would like to speak to.

All men are described as being of Indian Sub-Continental appearance.

The first man is described as being 180-185cm tall, of solid build, with facial hair and short black hair. He is depicted wearing a blue puffer jacket and a blue and red Ellesse branded shirt and jeans.
