Three people have been arrested in connection with marijuana-growing operation in a Slidell-area home, authorities said.

The arrests followed the search Monday of the home in the 300 block of Moonraker Drive in Eden Isles, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Tuesday.

Detectives found 82 marijuana plants inside four growing tents in the home’s garage, the Sheriff’s Office said. Detectives also found 280 grams of marijuana and 71 grams of psilocybin mushrooms. Four grams of cocaine, a 9mm handgun and drug paraphernalia were also seized, the news release said.

The Sheriff’s Office did not immediately say what prompted the search. 

Two men, Jose Romero and Gino Catalanotto, both 37, were arrested.

Romero was booked on multiple counts, including felony counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, running a drug lab and illegal possession of a firearm, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Catalanotto was booked on several misdemeanor counts, including of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and criminal damage to property, as well as a felony count of resisting an officer by force or violence. The Sheriff’s Office said Catalanotto refused to cooperate with deputies, then damaged the inside of a police vehicle.
