Rajkot: Bhavnagar special operation group (SOG) busted a racket of cultivating marijuana plants along with cotton and castor at a farm in in Khandhera Araniya village of Talaja taluka. Based on specific information, the police raided the farm and also seized contraband worth Rs 26.48 lakh. Search operation yielded 291 plants of marijuana that weighed 530kg. The police also arrested two brothers — Dhanji and Dharamshi Dhapa — who had cultivated the narcotics in a partnership.
Man held for attempt to murder
Rajkot: Jamnagar police arrested one Savji Sagathiya (35) for attempting to kill his own brother Shailesh over a family dispute. According to the police, Savji has been booked under IPC section 307 (attempt to murder) after he was accused of stabbing his brother in the abdomen.
Shailesh is in a critical condition and has been admitted to the hospital, the police said. According to the case, Savji had stabbed his brother in a dispute over his not wanting to keep his brother or his mother with him.
