Single picture exposes one obvious problem with Aussies’ growing love affair with massive American utes
- Massive ‘Yank tank’ ute slammed for ‘blocking traffic’
- Chevrolet Silverado was parked over boundary line
- Motorists want the popular vehicle type off the streets
A photo of a massive American ute in a car parking space with its back end jutting out into oncoming traffic has been slammed online.
A disgruntled onlooker took to social media on Thursday posting images of a parked Chevrolet Silverado ute protruding out onto the street, blocking traffic and creating a dangerous hazard in Melbourne‘s Bayside.
It comes as the soaring popularity of the over-sized ‘Yank tanks’ has sparked calls for the huge vehicles to be banned across Australia.
Pictures of the white dual-cab vehicle showed it parked on a 45-degree angle among a row of cars, its tray sticking out behind the white painted boundary line on the road.
Another image revealed the massive truck was blocking traffic, with a Kia driver veering around the back of it to get past.
