Two men were caught running a cannabis factory having only been roped into working there for a few days.
Vangelis Vlanis hid in a bathroom when police raided the property at Hunton Hill, Erdington, while his accomplice Shkelzen Murati laid low at the back of the terraced house.
The former has vowed to leave the UK and never come back, after he has served his jail-time.
Both men were promised £300 to £400 to oversee the ‘sophisticated’ operation, which had 319 plants in various rooms.
An alleyway to the side of the building had to be dug up in order to make safe the electrics, which had been bypassed.

Vlanis, aged 53, and Murati, 27, both of no fixed address, admitted a charge of producing a Class B drug and were each jailed at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday, April 9. They were sentenced to 18 months, of which they will serve half in prison and the remainder in custody.
The cannabis farm was discovered on February 11 this year.
Prosecutor Ben Close said: “At 8.30am police searched the property at Hunton Hill after receiving information about a cannabis farm. Neighbours said people were inside. When they entered the defendant Murati hid in the back and Vlanis hid in the bathroom.
