Monroe Charter Township is poised to once again address marijuana businesses and its ordinance outlining regulations for those established within the municipality’s bounds.
At a special meeting slated for 7 p.m. Wednesday, the township’s elected officials will convene at the township’s hall at 4925 E. Dunbar Rd. to discuss implementing a 90-day moratorium on marijuana-related business applications in the township.
If approved, the measure would give the township additional time to craft a zoning amendment to its current marijuana ordinance that would allow “fair and reasonable regulations” for the controversial businesses, according to an announcement from the township.
