A cannabis farm was found in a man’s bedroom and a woman arrested over a Taser in her house as police carried out a series of raids in a crackdown on violent crime.

Today Merseyside Police released images and details after the day-long swoops across St Helens as part of Operation Target.

And the raids on Wednesday saw a cannabis farm busted in Canberra Avenue.

Just before 11am officers on Canberra Avenue arrested a 52-year old man after they noticed a strong smell of cannabis coming from one of the properties.

The man was detained and following a search of the house, officers found a cannabis production in the front bedroom consisting of around 16 plants in two growing tents and vacuum packed cannabis.

The man was arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis and possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

He was taken to custody for questioning.
