THREE people have been arrested for drug trafficking in Mallorca after a marijuana plantation was uncovered by police.

Guardia Civil began their probe after becoming suspicious that a property in Esporles was being used to cultivate the drug.

A raid of the address led to the discovery of 16 large marijuana plants, three kilos of dried buds, cannabis ‘pollen’ and €10,000 in cash.

The marijuana was manufactured in one outdoor plantation and two indoor laboratories, with one dedicated to the treatment and drying of buds.

The arrests come as Guardia Civil carried out a total of 56 raids on marijuana plantations this year, seizing more than 112,500 plants.

These included a bust on a huge marijuana plantation hidden in a secret bunker at a property in Palma.

Captured on camera, the ensuing raid uncovered some 2,000 cannabis plants in an advanced stage of growth.
