Ohio offers scholarships, $1 Million with ‘Vax-A-Million,’ and Kentucky follows
Ohio’s Vax-a-Million lottery was the first of its kind among state-sponsored incentives.
Ohio residents who are ages 18 or older, have received at least one vaccine dose, and register for the drawing are eligible for the $1 million cash prizes. Three winners have already been chosen, with the fourth and fifth drawings planned for June 16 and 23.
Ohio teens ages 12 to 17 who have received one vaccine dose and registered online are eligible for the scholarships, which will cover tuition, room-and-board and books for four years at a public Ohio college or university. Funds for this program will be deposited for the winners into Ohio 529 Savings Plans.
Kentucky followed suit, offering a lottery program that will make three Kentuckians 18 and older millionaires and provide free college education for 15 youths ages 12 to 17.
