A corrections officer was arrested after investigators said she smuggled contraband into an Oldham County facility where she was worked.Ashley Nicole Sanford was arrested on charges of trafficking and possession of narcotics, according to a report from Kentucky State Police.According to the arrest report, state troopers were notified Monday about an employee who was caught bringing illegal substances into the Luther Luckett Correctional Complex in La Grange.When a trooper arrived, prison staff were with Sanford who was read her Miranda Rights and agreed to speak with the officer.According to the report, Sanford told the trooper that she went to a residence in Jefferson County the night before, where she picked up a package to deliver to the correctional complex where she worked.Sanford said she received four gift cards in various amounts for completing the transaction, according to the report.
