Fire rips through house in Bolton – police discover huge cannabis farm inside as flames put outPosted by On

Police uncovered a huge cannabis farm at a home after a blaze in the early hours.

Firefighters and police rushed to the scene in Tonge Moor Road, Bolton, on Tuesday at midnight, where a terraced house was reported burning.

Three fire engines and crews from Bolton Central and Bolton North fire stations spent three hours battling the flames, into the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The gas supply at the home – and neighbouring properties – had to be isolated as the fire raged on, according to fire service bosses.

When the fire was extinguished, police officers went inside the property – only to find a cannabis farm filled with around 100 plants.

Enquiries into the farm have been launched, though no arrests have yet been made.

The house is now boarded up because of the damage caused by the flames.
