Anti-drugs operatives in Benguet and Kalinga have discovered and destroyed P26 million worth of marijuana plants from 20 plantations.
According to the report, a total of 70,200 fully grown marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on site, along with 100,000 grams of dried marijuana leaves.
Authorities have also arrested eight suspected drug pushers in a series of buy-bust operations in the Cordillera Administrative region from April 23 to 29. The Police Regional Office-Cordillera- Regional Operations Division (ROD) said that 4.02 grams of suspected shabu with an overall SDP of P27, 336 were yielded from the suspects.
The arrested suspects are now facing charges for the violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
