A drug dealer who sold MDMA, marijuana and meth has been placed on parole after police read his text messages.
Ray Allen Brown was sentenced to 18 months in jail with immediate release on parole in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Friday.
Judge Glen Cash said he gave Brown a final chance to turn his life around or he would spend a long time in jail
The court heard officers had raided Brown’s home in August last year to find 6g of marijuana and 1.5g of methamphetamine.
But it was messages on the 46-year-old’s phone that landed him with a jail sentence.
Crown prosecutor Madalyn Olivero said police seized Brown’s phone after searching his home on August 23 last year.
“A review of that mobile phone revealed that over approximately two months he supplied or offered to supply, on nine occasions, three drugs being methamphetamine, MDMA and cannabis to six different contacts,” Ms Olivero said.
