Oklahoma schedules special election for recreational marijuana
Voters in Oklahoma will have the opportunity to vote on recreational marijuana in the state.
Residents in Oklahoma will not vote on allowing recreational marijuana, also known as State Question 820, in the state during the General Election on Nov. 8. However, the issue is still going to make it to voters. Gov. Kevin Stitt announced there will be a recreational marijuana special election on March 7, 2023.While advocates for the change collected the required signatures to get it on the ballot, a series of delays, including a slow confirmation of those signatures, meant the issue missed the deadline to make it on the November ballots.”Yes on 820″ Campaign Director Michelle Tilley says they are excited to finally be on the election schedule.If SQ 820 passes, it would legalize recreational marijuana use for adults 21 and older.
